Cherry Seim, Photographer

London, Summer 2011.

So far so good. I started taking pictures quite a few years ago, in the studio where I begun working in Italy, with a lot of equipment which I could not afford to buy, and which actually, I cannot even afford to buy right now. As soon as I realized what I did not want to do, I have started moving in the opposite direction, trying to portray everything that caught me right in front of my eyes. So I met snapshot cameras, lomographic cameras and a cheap slr. Perhaps it could look a bit silly, but I like to think about my subjects as beautiful in that exact instant as well as part of a reality that sometimes might pass unobserved. I do not really care about how a photograph could become thanks to kind of post-tricks although I really love tricks, the magical ones. Waiting for the film while it is being developed, is part of the magic, indeed.
So far, so good.
